Electrical Technician (Energy & Automation Systems)

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical energy meters, MCCBs, and automation-related systems. The role involves extensive site work, troubleshooting, and coordination with engineers and project teams to ensure reliable and compliant electrical installations.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong field experience in electrical and energy systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, wire, test, and commission electricity/energy meters (LV panels, smart meters, power meters).

• Assist in the installation and maintenance of MCCBs, ACBs, and electrical distribution panels.

• Perform cable termination, panel wiring, and labeling as per drawings and standards.

• Support PLC systems by handling field wiring, I/O checks, loop testing, and basic troubleshooting.

• Assist in SCADA system installation, communication setup, and field device integration.

• Carry out site inspections, fault finding, and corrective maintenance activities.

• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, and testing procedures.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site HSE requirements.

• Maintain service reports, checklists, and as-built documentation.

• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and supervisors during installation and testing works.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Diploma, ITI, or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician.

• Strong experience with energy meters and electrical panels.

• Working knowledge of MCCBs and protection devices.

• Basic exposure to PLC and SCADA systems (field-level support).

• Experience in utilities, infrastructure, or industrial projects is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams.

• Experience in cable termination, panel wiring, and testing.

• Basic understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, RS485, and Ethernet.

• Familiarity with electrical testing tools, including multimeters, insulation testers, and clamp meters.

General Skills

• Good troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to work on-site and in field environments.

• Basic computer skills, including MS Office.

• Valid driving license preferred.
