The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing civil construction activities at project sites while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The role involves managing manpower, materials, subcontractors, and site activities to ensure successful project completion within budget and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Site Management
• Supervise and manage day-to-day civil construction activities on site.
• Ensure project execution is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams for smooth project progress.
• Monitor site activities to ensure work is completed within planned timelines and budgets.
• Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies or technical issues.
• Ensure proper allocation of manpower, materials, machinery, and equipment at site.
Planning & Coordination
• Prepare work schedules and monitor project progress.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores departments for timely material delivery.
• Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, and management teams.
• Coordinate with MEP and architectural teams to ensure integrated project execution.
• Assist in the preparation of project reports, progress updates, and work forecasts.
Quality Control
• Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved quality standards and project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship quality.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities.
• Ensure proper testing and documentation of construction activities.
• Maintain records of site activities, inspections, and approvals.
Health & Safety
• Ensure implementation of HSE policies and safety procedures at site.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Monitor safe working practices for workers, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
• Report unsafe conditions and take corrective actions immediately.
Commercial & Documentation
• Verify subcontractor work progress and measurements.
• Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs and material estimations.
• Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Prepare site reports, daily progress reports, and technical documentation.
• Support the preparation of variations, as-built drawings, and project close-out documents.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience as required by company/project standards.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management practices.
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and construction standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software is preferred.
