Technician - NDT Level 2

As a Level 2 NDT Technician in the aviation sector, you will be responsible for conducting non-destructive testing to ensure the integrity and safety of aircraft components and structures. Your expertise in various NDT methods will contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and reliability in aircraft maintenance and operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) using methods such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant inspections to assess the condition of aircraft components.

  • Interpret and evaluate NDT results to identify defects and determine the acceptability of components in accordance with aviation standards and regulations.

  • Document and report NDT findings accurately, maintaining comprehensive records of inspections and test results.

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to plan and execute NDT inspections as part of routine maintenance or repair activities.

  • Ensure all NDT equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, adhering to safety and quality control procedures.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NDT inspections, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

  • Provide training and guidance to junior NDT technicians and maintenance staff on NDT techniques and procedures.

  • Assist in the procurement and management of NDT supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage.

  • Stay updated on advancements in NDT technology and techniques, incorporating new methods to improve inspection efficiency and accuracy.

  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives by adopting eco-friendly practices and technologies in NDT operations.

     

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in NDT preferred.

  • Level 2 certification in NDT methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant) in accordance with relevant aviation standards.

  • 5-7 years of experience as an NDT technician within the aviation industry.

  • Experience in the GCC region is preferred, with knowledge of local aviation practices and cultural norms.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for accurate interpretation of NDT results.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using NDT equipment and software, with familiarity with aviation-specific systems preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing inspection challenges.

  • Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in NDT practices.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Fluency in English; additional languages, especially Arabic, are advantageous.
