The Steward supports the culinary and food & beverage operations by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within kitchen and back-of-house areas of a luxury hotel. The role is essential to ensuring smooth kitchen operations and compliance with five-star hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware according to hotel standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, stores, and back-of-house facilities at all times.
- Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal in line with hygiene and environmental standards.
- Support chefs by ensuring timely availability of clean equipment and utensils.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations strictly.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies as required.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Comply with health, safety, and security policies of the hotel.
- Support special events and banquets as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Steward in a luxury hotel or resort environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong sense of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Reliable, disciplined, and hardworking.
