We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality and Hygiene Officer to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety across our restaurant operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring daily operations, implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, contributing to a safe and high-quality dining experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the consistent implementation of hygiene and food safety standards in all restaurant areas
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of kitchens, storage areas, dining rooms, and restrooms to identify risks or non-compliance
  • Monitor food preparation, handling, and storage processes to ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and local health regulations
  • Train staff on hygiene and sanitation practices, including personal hygiene, cleaning procedures, and safe food handling techniques
  • Maintain hygiene documentation such as inspection reports, cleaning schedules, checklists, and training records
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to reduce cross-contamination risks and ensure safe operational practices
  • Manage pest control schedules and ensure proper waste disposal systems are in place and maintained
  • Report violations or safety concerns to management and assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions
  • Keep updated on current food safety laws, trends, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and compliance

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Safety, Environmental Health, Microbiology, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant environments
  • Certification in HACCP, Food Safety, or equivalent is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene and sanitation regulations, including standards from authorities such as the Dubai Municipality or FDA
  • Excellent observation, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Ability to train and communicate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications for audit reporting and documentation
  • Experience in casual dining, fine dining, or QSR operations is a plus
