Procurement Officer (Aviation)

As a Procurement Officer in the aviation sector, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement process for goods and services essential to airline operations. Your role involves sourcing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials to support efficient airline services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet airline requirements for goods, services, and equipment.

  • Source suppliers, obtain competitive bids, and negotiate contracts to achieve cost-effective purchasing decisions.

  • Evaluate supplier performance, monitor contract compliance, and resolve supplier issues or disputes.

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier agreements.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as operations, maintenance, and finance departments to understand procurement needs and priorities.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of materials to make informed procurement decisions.

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the procurement function.

  • Conduct regular supplier assessments and participate in supplier development activities to enhance vendor relationships.

  • Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a procurement role within the aviation industry.

  • Experience in the GCC region is preferred, with knowledge of local procurement practices and regulations.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Flexibility to travel occasionally and work extended hours as needed.

  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as Arabic are advantageous.
