As a Neuro Technician, your role involves providing specialized technical support for neurological procedures and examinations. This includes assisting neurologists in conducting diagnostic tests, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining equipment. Additionally, you'll collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate data collection and patient comfort during procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist neurologists in conducting diagnostic tests and procedures for neurological conditions.
- Prepare and position patients for examinations, including EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies.
- Monitor patient responses during neurological tests and provide assistance as needed.
- Maintain and calibrate neurological equipment to ensure accurate test results.
- Record and document test findings accurately for review by neurologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing reassurance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and follow-up appointments.
- Stay updated on advancements in neurology and related technologies through continuous education and professional development.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience).
- Certification or training as a Neuro Technician is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in a neurology or related medical setting.
- Proficiency in conducting EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies.
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to patient care and safety.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
