MEP Estimator (Interior Fit-Out)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing tender documents, preparing detailed cost estimates, and liaising with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing for MEP systems in interior fit-out projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and assess project specifications, scope of work, and vendor offers to deliver precise and comprehensive estimates.

Job Responsibilities:

• Study tender documents, including drawings, project specifications, BOQ, scope of work, contract details, and conditions.
• Prepare a tender study report by analyzing the scope of work and identifying any potential discrepancies.
• Prepare BOQ, quantities take-off, and send inquiries to the procurement team, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Implement the tender strategy as communicated by the Proposals/Estimation Manager.
• Liaise with the construction/operations team to establish execution and method statements and incorporate them into the estimation.
• Establish direct cost resources required to execute various activities.
• Prepare man-hour calculations for different activities involved in the project.
• Provide technical clarifications to clients for discrepancies in tender documents after review, incorporating changes as necessary.
• Participate in pre-tender meetings, and site visits, and prepare site visit reports to analyze the project scope of work.
• Analyze vendor technical and commercial offers in view of project specifications and standards.
• Prepare comparative statements to analyze and select the most appropriate vendors and subcontractors.
• Conduct a vendor cost comparative study report to facilitate the selection of vendors/subcontractors and price determination.
• Prepare required bid documents, including commercial and technical submittals.
• Collect all vendor technical data sheets, vendor specifications, and drawings and compile them in line with tender documents for technical bid submission.
• Coordinate post-tender technical clarifications and commercial negotiations with clients and vendors.
• Assist management with post-tender commercial negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Provide assistance to the project and procurement teams during the post-award phase and initial project stages.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of proven experience as an MEP Estimator, specifically in interior fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards, particularly in interior construction.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or equivalent, as well as standard office tools like Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and project teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to interior fit-out works.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Nationality Preferred: Indian or Filipino
