Landscape Supervisor

We are hiring a Landscape Supervisor for a short-term project in Qatar. The candidate will supervise and inspect soft landscape maintenance, irrigation networks, and related facilities, ensure compliance with project specifications, implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans, coordinate with contractors, maintain records, and prepare progress reports. Candidates should have a diploma in agriculture or horticulture and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in soft landscape maintenance or construction projects.

Nature and Scope of Position / Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine inspection of the all soft landscape, irrigation network and related activities, Sport Facilities etc. and preparation of snags report.
  • Must have knowledge in soft landscape maintenance activities such as cutting/mowing grass, turf maintenance, planting flowers, pulling weeds, trimming edges, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, tilling soil, planting, irrigation & associated equipment/material, spraying insecticides/pesticides, plants garbage removal, maintaining machines etc.
  • Inspect maintenance work and projects to ensure procedures and materials comply with maintenance and project specifications, contract documents and/or work instructions.
  • Supervise and ensure the implementation of the approved preventive maintenance plan.
  • Supervise and ensure timely resolution of corrective maintenance requests/complaints.
  • Observes workers to detect inefficient and unsafe work procedures or identify problems, and initiates actions to correct improper procedure or solve problem.
  • Coordinating with other landscape contractors to schedule work activities and track progress, take corrective action where appropriate.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance tasks received through QU representative engineers, complaints, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance work detailing the progress, backlog, service levels, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and discuss these with the Head of Civil & Projects Section.
  • Ensure safe use, cleanliness, and general maintenance of landscape/vehicle/equipment.
  • Ensure that QU's security and safety guidelines are followed and assist the Head of Security and Safety in preparing reports for any security and/or safety incidents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
  • Perform other job duties as necessary and as directed by operations & maintenance Engineers of QU.

Experience and Education:

  • Diploma in Agriculture in any field of horticulture, agronomy, plant protection, irrigation (minimum 2 years academic + One year in-plant Training Course is preferred) in a recognized university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project and/or soft landscape maintenance experience in university or a construction services/maintenance organization.
  • Fluency in writing, reading and speaking English language is mandatory.
  • Excellency in computer skills including using MS Word and Excel, Internet browsing/searching, data transferring, making reports with good formatting ... etc.
