Job Overview
The Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for the technical selection, application, installation support, testing, and commissioning of water meters and flow measurement systems. The role involves close coordination with consultants, contractors, utilities, and internal teams to ensure accurate measurement solutions aligned with project specifications and international standards.
This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with hands-on field experience in water networks, bulk metering, and flow measurement technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical expertise for water meters and flow meters (electromagnetic, ultrasonic, mechanical, insertion, bulk meters, etc.).
•Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure correct meter selection and compliance.
•Support meter sizing, accuracy class selection, pressure loss calculations, and installation requirements.
•Assist in site installation supervision, testing, calibration, and commissioning activities.
•Conduct site inspections, troubleshooting, and performance verification of installed meters.
•Prepare and review technical submittals, datasheets, method statements, and compliance documents.
•Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and utility authorities for approvals and technical clarifications.
•Support integration of meters with data logging, pressure loggers, and SCADA systems where applicable.
•Liaise with OEMs for technical support, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and training.
•Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO, EN, MID, AWWA, OIML, etc.).
•Maintain accurate technical records, reports, and documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
•Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering.
Experience
•3–5 years of hands-on experience in water meters and flow meters.
•Proven experience in water networks, transmission lines, district metering areas (DMA), or utility projects.
•Experience working with municipalities or water authorities is an advantage.
Technical Skills
•Strong knowledge of flow measurement principles and meter technologies
•Experience with meter installation best practices and commissioning procedures
•Familiarity with data logging, AMR/AMI, and telemetry systems
General Skills
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Good communication and coordination abilities
•Willingness to perform field work and site visits
•Proficiency in MS Office
•Valid driving license in Qatar
