HVAC Technician (Chiller Systems)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chiller Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and troubleshooting air-cooled chiller systems in a plant or industrial setting. Hands-on experience with leading brands such as Trane, Carrier, York, and Daikin is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of air-cooled chillers in a plant environment
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on air-cooled chiller systems
- Conduct regular inspections, monitor system performance, and perform diagnostic evaluations
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues involving chillers and related components including pumps, valves, and compressors
- Maintain accurate service logs and records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Monitor chiller system performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
- Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with manufacturer guidelines, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures
- Work collaboratively with facility engineers and technical teams during major shutdowns and overhauls
- Perform basic electrical testing and operate control systems as necessary
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns with effective repair solutions
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or ITI in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of HVAC experience, including at least two years specifically with air-cooled chillers
- Strong understanding of chiller operation, refrigeration cycles, and system diagnostics
- Experience with major chiller brands such as Trane, Carrier, York, and Daikin is an advantage
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards and safe working practices
- Physically capable of working in both plant and outdoor settings
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Original qualification certificates and documented experience are mandatory
