HSE Manager (Oil and Gas)

As an HSE Manager in the oil and gas industry, you will lead and manage health, safety, and environmental initiatives to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety across all operational activities. Leveraging your expertise, you will develop and implement HSE policies, conduct audits, and provide guidance to mitigate risks and enhance operational safety. Your role is pivotal in safeguarding personnel, facilities, and the environment while maintaining regulatory compliance.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs and initiatives across oil and gas operational sites.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and assessments to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

  • Collaborate with management and operational teams to establish and achieve HSE objectives and targets.

  • Provide expert guidance and support to management and staff on HSE matters, promoting a proactive safety culture.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.

  • Coordinate HSE training and development programs to enhance awareness, skills, and compliance among personnel.

  • Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, preparing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain compliance with HSE regulations and standards.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in HSE management and apply them to enhance operational safety and efficiency.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field; professional certification such as (CSP, CIH, NEBOSH) preferred.

  • 7-8 years of experience including GCC in HSE management within the oil and gas industry, with a strong understanding of industry-specific hazards and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSE management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively communicating HSE policies, procedures, and objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and metrics to drive HSE performance improvements.

  • Ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs and initiatives to enhance employee competency and compliance.

  • Proficiency in HSE management software and tools for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages, particularly Arabic, is advantageous.
