The Food Safety Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive food safety training programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role involves designing engaging training materials, conducting training sessions, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs. The Food Safety Trainer works closely with employees at all levels to promote a culture of food safety and hygiene within the organization.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Program Development:

  • Develop and update food safety training materials, including presentations, manuals, and interactive content.

  • Stay abreast of current food safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure training materials are up to date.

Training Delivery:

  • Conduct engaging and informative food safety training sessions for employees at various levels.

  • Utilize diverse training methods, including workshops, simulations, and hands-on exercises, to enhance learning outcomes.

Compliance Assurance:

  • Ensure that all training programs align with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.

  • Monitor changes in regulations and update training materials accordingly to maintain compliance.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of food safety training programs.

  • Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant attendance, and assessment results.

  • Generate reports to track training compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality assurance, and human resources, to integrate food safety principles into various aspects of the business.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in food safety practices and training methodologies.

  • Implement corrective actions and provide recommendations to enhance overall food safety within the organization.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate food safety policies, procedures, and best practices to all employees.

  • Serve as a resource for employees seeking guidance on food safety-related matters.


QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.

  • Certification in food safety training (e.g., SERV Safe) is highly desirable.

  • Proven experience as a food safety trainer or in a related role.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt training approaches to diverse audiences.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
