Fire Fighting Technician (Oil and Gas)

As a Fire Fighting Technician in the oil and gas industry, you will be responsible for maintaining safety and emergency preparedness by preventing and responding to fire incidents. Leveraging your expertise, you will conduct fire risk assessments, maintain fire safety equipment, and execute emergency response plans. Your dedication to safety and efficiency will ensure a secure working environment and compliance with industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire suppression systems.

  •  Perform fire risk assessments and implement fire prevention measures to mitigate potential hazards.

  •  Respond promptly to fire incidents, conducting fire suppression and rescue operations as needed.

  •  Train and drill staff on fire safety procedures and emergency response protocols.

  •  Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and industry standards.

  •  Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and fire incidents.

  •  Coordinate with emergency response teams, including local fire departments, to ensure cohesive action during emergencies.

  •  Monitor fire detection systems and control room operations to identify and address fire hazards.

  •  Participate in safety audits and contribute to continuous improvement of fire safety practices.

  •  Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety policies and emergency response plans.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  •  High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fire safety or a related field preferred.

  •  7-8 years of experience in firefighting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

  •  Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety regulations, firefighting techniques, and emergency response protocols.

  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration with staff.

  •  Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to fire prevention and emergency response.

  •  Physical fitness and the ability to work in high-stress environments.

  •  Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  •  Fluency in English; additional languages, especially Arabic, are advantageous.
