Duty Manager (Hospitality)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth running of service during your shift, maintaining high standards of hospitality and efficiency.
  • Promote a professional and welcoming image to guests. Assist guests promptly and courteously, addressing their needs with a caring attitude.
  • Be flexible and responsive to business and guest needs, assisting across various areas of the hotel as required.
  • Maintain effective communication regarding shift updates and attend all relevant hotel meetings.
  • Support the personnel and training functions, including taking on specific responsibilities related to staff development.
  • Oversee and assist in various departments as needed, including operational support in Catering areas.
  • Aid in the training and induction of new staff members in collaboration with the Heads of Department.
  • Ensure the security of the hotel, including management of stocks and keys, throughout your shift.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in adhering to legal obligations concerning Health & Safety, including conducting and reviewing risk assessments.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues or hazards within the workplace.
  • Assume responsibility for emergency situations in line with established procedures while on duty.
  • Attend training meetings and other relevant events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar managerial role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Flexibility to respond to various business needs and guest requests efficiently.
  • Experience in staff training and development.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and ability to implement risk assessments.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and team members.
  • Relevant qualifications in hospitality management or a related field are preferred.
