We are hiring experienced Commis I and Commis II to join the Culinary and Pastry teams of a well-established luxury hotel in Doha, Qatar. Applicants with a background in pastry or multi-cuisine kitchen operations are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking or baking of food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure ingredients and equipment are set up and organized before service, contributing to efficient kitchen or pastry operations throughout the shift.
  • Support senior chefs and pastry chefs with assigned tasks and follow instructions carefully.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all workstations.
  • Store food products correctly to preserve quality and minimize waste.
  • Track inventory and promptly report any shortages or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize tools, work areas, and kitchen equipment as per hygiene protocols.
  • Comply with food safety guidelines and proper labeling during all handling and preparation stages.
  • Assist with plating to maintain consistency in food presentation.
  • Cooperate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
  • Follow portioning guidelines and assist in managing food costs.
  • Show eagerness to learn, adapt, and develop new skills under chef supervision.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Commis I – Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in luxury hotel kitchens, with expertise in multi-cuisine dishes or pastry preparation.
  • Commis II – 1 to 2 years of experience in a multi-cuisine kitchen within a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or formal training in culinary or pastry arts is a plus.
  • Good understanding of cooking techniques, bakery methods (for pastry roles), and food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow standard recipes and produce consistent results.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and a proactive attitude.
  • Physically capable of working in a busy kitchen for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be currently residing in Doha, Qatar with a valid visa and QID.
