We are seeking a motivated and passionate Commis I to support the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality food. The successful candidate will assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area.
• Support senior chefs during food preparation and service.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Assist in minimizing food wastage and maintaining portion control.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is used and maintained properly.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a luxury hotel
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment.
• Exposure to international or multi-cuisine kitchens is an advantage.
