Civil Estimator (Interior Fit-Out)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for interior fit-out projects, conducting quantity take-offs, and providing bid proposals. This role involves collaborating with various project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring the cost-effective management of materials, labor, and other resources to meet project requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior fit-out projects by analyzing architectural plans, specifications, and other relevant documents, estimating the costs of materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources.
• Perform precise quantity take-offs from blueprints and design documents to determine material and labor requirements for each project.
• Compile and submit competitive bid proposals, ensuring all necessary information is included, such as pricing, timeframes, and exclusions.
• Stay updated on market conditions, material pricing, and labor rates to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect current trends.
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and ensure the most cost-effective solutions are utilized in project estimates.
• Identify potential risks or uncertainties in projects and provide contingency recommendations to mitigate them.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, designers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals, schedules, and client expectations.
• Review and adjust estimates as projects progress, including re-estimation in case of scope changes or new project information.
• Propose alternative materials or construction methods to provide cost savings or enhance project value while maintaining quality standards.
• Present estimates to clients and provide explanations on cost breakdowns, answering any queries related to project costs and scope.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, project documents, and correspondence for future reference and audit purposes.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a civil estimator, specifically in interior fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards, particularly in interior construction.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or equivalent, as well as standard office tools like Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and project teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to interior fit-out works.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Nationality Preferred: Indian or Filipino
