As a Cargo Agent in the aviation industry, you will be responsible for handling and managing the logistics of cargo shipments, ensuring efficient and timely delivery. Your role is essential in maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction within cargo handling operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and document incoming cargo shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and airline policies.
Prepare cargo for loading onto aircraft, verifying weight, dimensions, and documentation accuracy.
Coordinate with ground crews and flight crews to ensure timely and accurate loading and unloading of cargo.
Utilize equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems to handle and transport cargo safely and efficiently.
Monitor and maintain cargo warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and recording of shipments.
Communicate effectively with shippers, consignees, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth cargo operations.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for handling hazardous materials and special cargo items.
Assist in documenting and reporting any irregularities or incidents related to cargo handling operations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of cargo handling areas to promote safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional service to customers.
Qualifications and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics, aviation, or related fields is advantageous.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Cargo Agent or in a similar role within the aviation industry.
Proficiency in English is required; fluency in Arabic is advantageous for communication with local stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and cargo handling.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing operational demands.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational requirements.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, security, and customer service in cargo operations.
Experience in the GCC region is preferred, with knowledge of local cargo handling procedures and customs regulations.
