Assistant Banqueting Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Banqueting Manager to support the planning and execution of banquets, conferences, and private functions. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing all aspects of event operations, ensuring outstanding service delivery, staff coordination, and client satisfaction. This role is key in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations and delivering memorable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Banqueting Manager in planning and coordinating all banquet and event operations
  • Supervise setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions to ensure quality and timeliness
  • Liaise with clients to understand event requirements and ensure they are met or exceeded
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless event execution
  • Manage and delegate tasks to banqueting staff during events
  • Monitor service standards and address any issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction
  • Maintain proper inventory of banquet equipment and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Provide training and support to junior team members to ensure high service standards
  • Handle administrative tasks including event reports, schedules, and billing assistance

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred)
  • Food Safety & Hygiene certification is an advantage
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in banqueting, event management, or food & beverage service
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel, venue, or fine dining setting is preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence
  • Proficiency in event software systems or basic MS Office tools
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per event schedules
